Frequently asked questions

It’s easy! Two steps are required for any consultations. First is to schedule a time for the consult. This is done by clicking the "Start Now" button in the pricing section. Secondly, you need to start the video conference (either in browser or with iOS doxy.me app).

Once you get confirmation email of appointment time, you then click the link in the email to "Enter Waiting Room" at the appropriate time. The provider will see you in the waiting room and will start the consultation.

If prefer, you may download the doxy.me application in the iOS or Android store for FREE for the video conference and ignore the button on the website.

Regardless, an agreed upon time needs to be completed first or the provider may not be aware that you are in the waiting room.

Telemedicine is the use of modern computer and video technology to bring high quality health care directly to you. Such advances allow you to access a physician from your computer or smart phone. All you need for this is an Internet connection and a computer or iPad, or smart phone (both Apple and Android).

The cost of consultation is $60. This covers the visit and any follow up. If needed, there are extra fees for labs and X-rays. The pricing is updated on this page. Pricing for these includes interpretation and follow up.

We know everything is not compatible with telemedine. Suprisingly to many, a lot of things are perfect for this type of service. For example: medication refills, uncomplicated illness/injury, and evaluations for suspected chronic illness (ie. thyroid disease or diabetes).

Even minor orthopedics injuries can be easily triaged or further evaluated via imaging without the hassle and costs of an Emergency Room or Urgent Care.

Anyone who is a resident of South Carolina can be seen whether in state or not at the time of visit. If you are visiting from out of state, but staying in South Carolina, you can also be seen.

No. We do not accept any insurance in order to keep our prices as low as possible and this is known as direct pay medicine. We accept only credit or debit cards, including HSA accounts.

Pricing transparency means you know in advance exactly what something will cost. We publish all of our costs right on our website. Try finding that information from an ER or traditional practice! How are we able to do this? We don’t take insurance thus are not confined by the rules and regulations that go with such an arrangement. We know exactly what our services cost and by eliminating insurance (and the associated regulations and cost of compliance), we can keep our prices extremely low.

We have done everything possible to keep the cost of our services to a minimum without sacrificing the quality of our care. We even eliminated the office! All of our testing is done in outpatient centers conveniently located in your community for easy access and quick results. If cost is not important to you, we probably aren’t the right solution. For everyone else, we’re here when you need us!

Yes. If you need a prescription, we can write for this and electronically send it to a pharmacy near you. Please note that we cannot prescribe medications for pain or anxiety (Class IIC medications*).

*Substances in this schedule have a high potential for abuse which may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence. If your problem is thought more complicated or serious than what can be handled via telemedicine (i.e. stitches or stroke), we can refer you to either a local ER or a doctor’s office close to you. We will attempt to contact your doctor or hospital in advance to explain your situation. If we are unable to handle your medical complaint, there will be no charge for your visit.

When further non-emergent testing is needed, we can refer you to a convenient testing center close to you for both blood work and/or radiology studies. Ancillary studies (x-rays/labs) have their own fee schedule as outlined on this site. Once your studies are completed, the results are sent to us and we get back with you with the results. All this happens quickly and conveniently at no additional cost to you.
